Chapter 11

Beginnings

Jerry and Tami had changed clothes and were heading out the door to the waiting limo. Nicole and Tami had spent hours discussing the honeymoon and Nicole knew everything was in place for a glorious two weeks of romance in the Greek Isles.

Wonderful hotel, white sand beaches, beautiful sunsets, and romantic evenings, awaited them. She knew in her heart Tami would be all right. Jerry was the perfect man for her and their future looked about as rosy as the sun setting on San Francisco bay as their limo pulled away.

Walking back inside the hotel, Nicole took her phone out of her purse and dialed Robert’s number.

“Hello.”

“Robert.”

“Nicole darling. It’s been over a week, I miss you.”

“I’ve been busy with Tami’s wedding and all.”

“Yes, I remember. How did it go?”

“It was beautiful. The whole thing was fantastic and now they are off on a two week honeymoon.”

“That’s good, means you’ll have time to fit me into your schedule.”

“Perhaps.”

“How about this evening?”

“Well, this evening I have a suite at the Fairmont for the night, courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Miller. The champagne is chilled, the sheets have been turned down, and I have a new teddy.”

“I’m on my way.”

“Did I say I wanted you to join me?”

“Nope. I read between the lines.”

“What lines?”

“Nicole.”

“Yes.”

“Hang up the phone.”

As she hit the red button to disconnect the line, Nicole walked to the front desk. Taking a notepad, she scribbled a private message for Robert and handed it to the desk clerk, with instructions to give the note and a room key to Robert Peterson when he arrived. As she walked to the elevator she thought about the night to come and smiled.
